Energy saving mode and un usable screen.

Postby taco smush » Wed Oct 22, 2014 12:36 am

So i had a lot of luck on day one when i set it up and ever since then i have had issues with it going into energy saving mode on its own or if it does display something after i go into the in windows settings and click save and apply it only shows random info. (one of your pre defined CPU sensor readouts) Ive tried different settings, have it set to run as administrator, have riva set to start with this in startup. Tried running the goverlay tester and will post the log below, Please help i love this lil guy and it really sucks i havent been able to use it like i did on day one.

at the bottom of the tester app for LCDsysinfo for GOverlay it says Cant Connect so i am assuming and hoping this is something really stupid..

Saving mode triggers when the display didnt have an update for over X amount of time.
If you add just a text to the screen it will eventually get on saving mode because the text didnt need any update.

So its either two things:
The sensors arent updating for some reason:
A) You have set a refresh rate speed of 4 seconds and every 4 seconds there arent updates, which is odd because you have the clock at the top, should change the seconds.
B) Your USB is malfunctioning and not sending the updates to the screen

The second thing where you see "partial writes" on the screen is because some items were requested to draw and overwritten the saving mode, which shouldnt of go into saving mode in the first place.

So lets look at some things:

1- How long until the dispaly goes into the saving mode? its always the same amount of time?
2- Can you post the GOverlay LOG when it happens?
3- Can you post a screen of the LCDSysInfo > Status tab when this happens?
4- Can you post a screen of the LCDSysInfo > Settings tab?

And we will see from there.
