Change profile on display based on game running

Postby vrod » Thu Dec 21, 2017 10:01 am

Hi.

I am running RTSS and have selected my .exe programs.

In GOverlay, I went to the tab under 2.8"Display/on Gaming, and made a profile with the exact same as the .exe program.

That being said, I am not trying to display anything on screen. I want to change the display graphs on my 2.8" LCD unit based on what game I am playing.

How can I do this?

If I can send a command line option (to change the profile) without using the gaming option, then that is OK too.

thanks!

If the .exe matches the game, it should automatically load that profile, but do you have RTSS running? RTSS has to detect the game having DX/OpenGL for it to appear

OIC.

No, it does not have DX nor Open GL in it.

It really isn't even a game. Just an .exe I made that does absolutely nothing.
I was hoping that GOverlay would see my .exe and then change to another profile.

Is there any other way to change profiles? (Besides manually)

thanks

there isnt a way to do it without RTSS, i will see if i can add something for the next version.
The easiest way to change profiles (altough its a manual process) is to right click on the goverlay icon

I see.

Yeah, it would be great if you could add a programmable shortcut key (hotkey) that would jump to a specific profile.

I am not using any "OnDisplay" screens, just a 2.8" display. Looks good too.

I would like to be able able to black the screen out (could be done with a blank profile).
Changing to another profile would be good too, although just turning the display on/off would be good enough for me now.
I am trying to simulate my cockpit turning on or off.

Here is my setup;

hey vrod, try the new beta which has support for loading profiles by command line

ex: GOverlay.exe -activateprofile3.5 "template - blue (LCD2)"

I don't have a 3.5" display, but the smaller one.

Would it still work?
