Anything about GOverlay and the devices supported

SLIDE SHOW

Postby jase » Thu May 22, 2014 5:58 pm

Helllo,

I liked this device so much, I bought two.

One is for my computer.

The other one I want to use as a stand-alone image display slide show.
I can't find a way to do this. The older model has software to do this (LCD Sys Info - Images Loader) but it does not detect this device.

Anyone know how to do this?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

JASE.

We currently do not have an option to do this, but it can be done with the plugin system, which can be coded in VB.NET fairly easy.
Do you know any programming on VB.NET?

I do not know any programming on VB.NET. I tried to look for information about it thru google. But was unsuccessful.

I will continue looking for more info how to do this.

I thank you for your time, have a great day!

UPDATE:

Still trying to find the VB software to allow me to code a plugin, but as a temporary solution I was able to make a STAND ALONE display with only 1 picture.

I replaced the "001.33.init" image in the LCDSysInfo folder.

I then uploaded it to the display device.

Had to adjust the brightness to maximum so it would stay on all the time.

I saved an applied settings. So now I have one image display that will work with any usb charger.

Hi Jase, i can develop the plugin but looking at the last picture it wont be possible to work like that, you will still need the display to be connected to a computer since GOverlay will be changing the images on the display, is this behavior still okay for you?

That would be excellent! I would definitely use and I know some people that want it. I gave them your link to buy one.

I got it to work on the BETA version of Goverlay. For some reason it wouldn't work on the regular one.
The box for "Random slideshow?" kept defaulting to a blank box.

Anyways, it works GREAT on the BETA version.

Thank you very, very much!
