Memory leak [FIXED]

Postby SubSonix » Fri Feb 03, 2017 12:04 pm

I've noticed that my memory usage is now steadily increasing on the Goverlay process. Was up to about 1.5GB yesterday. This may have been an issue in older versions, but It's the first time I've noticed.

Does it do it right when you start it? i mean, is there a way to see it right away - or 2 mins span- or it starts leaking after hours?

What version are you using?

1.4.6

Looks like it might take a while to start leaking, I'll keep an eye on it and get back to you.

When it happens, can you try running the prev version of goverlay? you have another .exe in the GOverlay folder, Old_GOverlay_v142.exe , try with that one so we can see if this bug was introduced in 1.4.6 or existed before.

I'll test that out tomorrow. I've been running it since I posted last and so far It hasn't leaked - the process hasn't used over 30mb so far. So perhaps It's only under certain conditions that it leaks.

I am also experiencing a memory leak.

After the first start Goverlay crashes after some time (befor it's eating lots of ram). Then i have to restart it, it doesnt crash again but after that, the programm is continuingly eating even more ram.

That happens with all version i have tried so far, old versions and the newest too.

It starts eating instantly from the beginning.

the only plugin i'm using is "HWinfo" with the "HWinfo64" programm.
i will disable the plugin and see what happens.

Well i have deactived the HWinfo plugin and Goverlay didn't crash or ate ram the last two days.
It seems that the plugin causes the problem!

@TheLaGmAn
Do you have a solution?
