GOverlay and OpenHM can't see CPU temp

Postby calyster solaris » Fri Jun 17, 2016 1:53 am

hey guys i just changed my PC and on my my old PC everything worked fine on windows 7 but now on Windows 10 with an Asus Maximus Formula 8 i cannot find the sensor for my CPU temperature

the Bios indicate it clearly and same goes for HWMonitor but for some reason GOverlay and Open HM does not, i tried running it in administrator mode as it solved the problem of someone else but it changed nothing for me sadly

anyone might have an idea or if i can add the sensors from HWMonitor?

thanks for the help!

Can you try the standalone open hardware monitor app to see if it shows up in there?

Okay, so thats the problem, OHM is not showing you your CPU info for some reason so GOverlay will have that same issue.
You could switch to HWiNFO or any other of the apps but you will have to keep them running on the background.

Have you tried running OHM standalone app as admin?

You may want to try the lastest alpha of open hardware monitor http://openhardwaremonitor.org/files/openhardwaremonitor-v0.7.1.5-alpha.zip see if that finds your CPU temps

If the alpha works, by copying the openhardwaremonitorlib.dll file in that alpha into the GOverlay folder (replacing the old one), GOverlay should be able to get those sensors that you see in the OHM Alpha version.
