DIY LCD display

I was wondering; if I wanted to make my own LCD display, what is the communication protocol between GOverlay and the LCD device?

To make your own display you have the details on coldtears wiki page on how to make a lcdsysinfo (base version) and examples on how to control that display, you can start from there if you wish to make your own, GOverlay does not work with this device tho since it requires different things.
