The tester shows that the driver is not properly installed (maybe an update to windows 10 that broke it)

Try to reinstall the driver.

Sorry to keep bothering you for no reason! I went ahead and simply re-installed the driver and now it is detected and working without any issues. It seems like, in one of the Windows 10 updates, it caused some issue with the driver. A 3 minute reinstall and I was good to go. Thanks for your help.

I have same issue, and what do you mean install driver. Doesn't it get installed when the screen is plugged in. I've turned that driver screening thing off and tried to install and restart several times and keep frustrating myself because I see the same anewer in the forums everywhere "just install the drivers" but it won't let me.

Just go to the FAQ: http://www.goverlay.com/content/faq/
Here is a step by step guide for the driver installation in various SO (with images), this is from the windows 10 section:

How can i install the driver on Windows 10?
We provide the driver for "LCDSysInfo for GOverlay" bundled with GOverlay.
Here is how to install the driver on Windows 10, it requires disabling the digital signature and to do so, you will need to restart your computer.

Step 1: Connect 'LCDSysInfo for GOverlay'
Connect the Device, you will see windows detects it but won't be able to install the driver.
Save all your documents because you will have to restart your computer.
Move your mouse to the bottom-right edge of your screen and click on the notifications icon. Then click on All Settings

etc...

Hey Guys,

Hopefully someone can help me. I am using the 3.5" screen on Windows 10.

I installed GOverlay and then installed the drivers (as the installer explained the drivers need to be installed last). I installed them after turning off signatures and did so using http://zadig.akeo.ie/, which I found on viewtopic.php?f=2&t=308 (the regular install was not working for some reason).

I'm experiencing the same issues that the OP mentioned (enabled, not detecting), however, I am unable to adjust brightness.

The system settings show that it is not having any driver issues and I bought it from the eBay page that this site directed me to (so it's certainly compatible). I'm using an off-market USB cable, but the computer is able to recognize the device (I'm just not sure why the software can't).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I just installed GOverlay 2.0 under Windows 8.1 Update 1. I have followed the correct instructions on how to install the driver under my currnet operating system. I managed to reboot by disabling the digital signature in order to get the driver working.

And in the logs, I keep getting LCDSysInfo - Error opening device every second. I used the current version of your Goverlay Tester and here are the results:

Should I re-install the driver by the way? If re-installing doesn't work, then there may be a problem with the drivers in this latest version of GOverlay. :p
